The Woman in White

Walter Hartright leaves London for a teaching post with a family in the north of England--only to find a connection between one of his new students, Laura, and a ghostly young woman he had recently encountered on Hampstead Heath. As Walter and Laura's relationship intensifies, he discovers he has a rival, a man with secrets to hide.

Walter and Marian try to uncover the facts surrounding Anne Catherick's committal to an asylum. Meanwhile, Laura makes a play of her own to escape from her engagement to Sir Percival.

Desperate for money, Sir Percival schemes to get his hands on Laura's fortune. His ally, Count Fosco, intervenes just as Laura is on the brink of finding out more about her new husband. The sisters grow increasingly concerned about what the two men might be plotting.

As Sir Percival and Fosco execute their plans, Marian is devastated at the news of her sister's death. She reconnects with Walter, and together they set out to find answers about Sir Percival. In the process, they make an amazing discovery about what really happened to Laura.
